This large artwork is a toast to the full, curious, well-read life. I created this exuberant still life scene spilling across a blazing magenta cloth to convey all of the hope and promise that a life well lived has to offer. None of us are getting out of here alive, so let's gather all the wisdom available to us and make the most of our lives. 

L'Chaim! is the Jewish toast meaning "To Life!" — and that spirit is woven through every brushstroke. This is a painting for the reader, the thinker, the traveller, the collector of beautiful and curious things.

The Crystalhead vodka was my starting point for this artwork, which drew me to think about Momento Mori and Mexican Day of the Dead. The colourful embroidered bird pinned to the backdrop was bought in a Mexican market on my backpacking adventures many moons ago. Freedom used to mean hopping on a plane and going off to a new place, now it means letting my imagination run wild creating my unique still life compositions. What does freedom mean to you? This is a painting to enjoy while toasting the life you have created for yourself. 

Painted in acrylic on canvas with bold, confident colour, it makes a striking statement in any room that loves books, ideas, and a little irreverence.
